Blog # 8: The relevance of multimedia to marketing

Multimedia has a very broad meaning but I just simply define it that Multimedia is a combination of text, art, sound, animation and video that is delivered by computer or any electronic devices. That is the simplest definition of Multimedia. Suchlike of multimedia means, marketing also has a wide definition but we can simplify that marketing is an action or business of promoting and selling products or services.

Actually I have difficulty to find out what the relevance of the two because both of the two has a broad meaning but when I go back to our discussion last time about marketing I found that marketing is a selling or promoting products or services that multimedia will help to promote of that products or services. Multimedia is a tool to publish of what products or services you want to promote, so that you can have a seller or consumer to your marketing product.

To have a consumer you’ll need to advertise your product and advertising is not synonymous to marketing but is a form of marketing it is an outbound marketing that helps you to bring your product into public and many people will want to try it and maybe that is the beginning of your income money.

In short Marketing is promoting a products or services and the Multimedia is a tool of marketing products or services.

 These previous days the classes were suspended because of the typhoon and I don’t know if I will be celebrating because the classes were suspended though I used my time to find more company for our Marketing subject because we are required to interview a Multimedia Company and that is part of our midterm examination. Also that day is very cramming because none of the company respondent yet from my email while waiting them to respond, I practice myself to enhance my skills in creativity in Photoshop, I missed editing photos by the help of tutorial in YouTube that some of the instructions are very confusing so I’d experiment some techniques and strategy in composing effects.

Somehow I learned and improved by helping myself not to be lazy that days. Now I am addicted to edit images in PS, I’m enjoying doing that, before I’m not that interested to edit and to learn some effects in PS because I'm much prefer to photography and web designing but now it’s more exciting to learn many effects and strategy in PS by the guide of You Tube. I get confusing now what I much prefer to in my future, to be a photographer or to be a graphic designer. Waaa. I don’t know yet. J All I know now is to enjoy and explore my course.

Now I’m more enjoying my course and someday I got more talent to show.

"Good and Bad Effects of High Technology"

Many of the Filipinos today are wishing to have new high technologies and because of emerging of high technologies now a day it also affects the economy it may advantages and it may also disadvantages for us. Somehow our country are relatively progressing because of the new high technologies, as you can see in the advertisements or a commercial in the television we can say it has a lot of improvement than previously, somehow we can say because of the high technologies it help us to have more endorsers and sponsors but not all can have the benefits but maybe someday we can all have the benefits if the technologies will continue to emerge. Mobile devices now are the new consumption of the economy, even a low class people in the economy desire to have a new one even they only have an exact budget for their foods. I don’t understand why they desiring for such things even they don’t have enough money and they still want to buy expensive gadgets they prioritize what they wants first than they needs. Anyway they have their own life and problems and I don’t have rights to think about it.

At the same time social media today are also trending, that’s why it caused many illegal cases. For what I observed today, social media is very powerful for communicating other people especially to those far places who wants to communicate their families but because of some other people abusing of the powerful of social media other people victimized an illegal cases like spamming, fooled other people about their products (some are used social media for business) and others, but in other hand if we look the advantage of social media it helps a lot because now you can advertise your product by using of that in case you have a business, you can also state what you want to express about something and share new discoveries,  but because of the abusing people some other people are not pretty much convinced to believe what the issue or product contains in the social media.

Somehow the multimedia today is progressing but for what I can see the high technologies can caused many illegal and inappropriate cases in the economy.

"New Beginning"

Youth today are more interested in technologies although previously the in demand course is Information Technology (I.T.) but because they’re already over populated they need to decrease they’re population and I am so happy because my course today is now progressing.

Imagine, all enrolled freshmen are almost 40+, I can’t believe at first because when I was enrolling last summer what I heard to incoming freshmen are just 30+ and now they increasingly so fast. Honestly, at first I can’t feel the freshmen because what I think about them at my first impression is very riot and hard to be with them but that just only my first impression. Little by little I am practicing myself to bond with them and I found that they are fun to be with and I’m looking forward to myself to have a good relationship with them.

I am scared to trouble I’m so much contented to my classmates now because I want my section to be more united and have strong relation to each other, I don’t want to destroy what we’d gain friendship. Maybe the reason why I don’t want to mingle to other section is just because to avoid issues those will maybe a cause or a reason of trouble. I just want to have me and my classmates to have a quiet life together even though we’re only few compare to freshmen today. I am contented to what we have right now. But don’t misunderstood my opinion what my point is just I am scared to join them closely though we have advantages because MMA now a days are progressing don’t forget to disadvantages especially when it comes to gadgets and how to associate with them appropriately is very hard, all of them have different attitude. Maybe the reason why I am scared is because I am used to have few classmates in my whole first year.

After the General Assembly last Thursday it helps me a lot to remove my worries and now I am pretty close to other year levels and willing to have a nice bond with them. J

"Multimedia Progression"

Filipino today was pursuing to buy the “in” gadgets even how expensive it is for them to buy it. They’re doing some extra effort so that they could buy the latest gadgets even they only having exact amount on his pocket. I don’t why they want to be so techy person maybe the reason because of the “popularity” thing. For me being a techy person is not being famous, maybe if I am having expensive gadgets is because I need it to my course. I am just being a practical because now a day’s people are so demanding especially when it comes to cell phone I don’t know why they want to be always updated in cell phone; they want every season to have a latest one. Even in the DSLR camera they want to have it even they do not know how to use it.

Today, Multimedia artist is now progressing and I am very happy for that because my field today in this industry is improving. I am hoping that little by little we can beat other country when it comes to film production (Hehe, I hope so. ☺)

When I was enrolling to my course I thought this course was not so in demand unlike the other courses and I thought I am just enrolling in a low level degree course but it prove me so wrong because I can say even I am just only a 2^nd year college student of Multimedia Arts it is not that easy to become an artist, a real artist, you’ll need to have a broad minded mind so that you can create or think a better and unique ideas that suit to your project. If you are not having a creative mind you are lost in this field.

Now when somebody ask me what’s my course and when I said Multimedia arts and they are like “WOW!”

I feel so proud because my course is very unique than the others.

Before & After...

The changes what I observe to myself is that, Clau right now can normally act her true actions to others what I mean is I am more confident to show the real side of me unlike before. I am more comfortable to my classmates’ right now after all issues we'd experience last semester, I can now express my real actions with them without shyness, I can show them the crazy side of me and sometimes being a moody one.

I am so much lucky to have them because they actually treat me well even sometimes I am so unpredictable person. Even we have just only 3 days of schooling in a week, I can say it so much fun to go to school even were few unlike the freshmen today. I have a great classmates and no one can replace them. ♥

Maybe the other improvement to me was I found out what I really wanted to be someday. I want to be a photographer someday. I also want to prove for my parents that I can be a trusted daughter because without them I am nothing now. This semester I want to achieve my goal which is the scholarship because in that way I can help my parents.

Before, I don't really know who I really am but spending time with my classmates, I found myself, the real Clau. I also realize that expressing the real me to others was very good in feeling. But hey! I'm not saying that I am a "plastik" person I was just afraid that time to express the real Clau because I have no confidence yet with myself but now I can say "NASOBRAHAN NA ATA KAKAPALAN KO" especially when I'm with my classmates because Im so much comfortable with them and I don't think they also feel that way to me (hehe. XD).

I am getting older and I want to be more mature especially when it comes to dilemma. Someday I want my parents to be proud of me. I'm expecting for more changes to myself after this semester and I will surely prove to myself that I can reach my goal. ☺

"Transition using Adobe Bridge"

Actually I’m very organize when it comes to file managing. I don’t like my folders messy especially on my desktop, it really sucks to see having a messy folders or files on my desktop. But sometimes I cannot avoid to have a messy files especially when I’m doing a lot of projects and sometimes I can’t remember where I saved that file. So what I usually do is download or import again.

It’s very waste of time right? J

At first when I’m using Adobe Photoshop, I have a curiosity about what the Br above in Adobe Photoshop and there’s a caption “Launch Bridge” and when I open that I found nothing. I asked myself what’s the purpose of this? I thought it was like a web designing application but then I’m wrong, then I close it.

When Ms. A assigned to form a group to discuss about Adobe Bridge I was like, “How can I discuss that, I don’t have any idea what Adobe Bridge is.” Rogelio and Aiza are my group mates and were assigned to report about Importing Photos. It was easy for us to discuss importing images because it’s common for us to import images. When I'm doing our report I research about how to import images in Adobe Bridge, I found a good article to guide me and my group mates on our reporting.

Adobe Bridge is not only about managing or organizing files, you can also add more details to your imported files and take note you can also adjust the exposure, brightness, contrast, etc. through camera raw. You can also put a watermark and copyright your images.

There are a lot of things you can do in Adobe Bridge. It’s not ordinary file organizer that you can simply save your files. It can help you especially when you love collecting photos.

I’d only learned using Adobe Bridge when our professors require us to use that and it’s a big time saver.☺

Keep your head up ☺

I really love editing photos and photography that’s why I decided to take Multimedia Arts. When my first year days it’s really challenging for me because I don’t have any ideas yet what will be my life being part of CAS family and I found that being part of CAS family is very simple and artistic which I like to be with. I really enjoy being part of them and I realize that I will never ever regret that I am part now of CAS family.

What happened to my 1^st and a half year was very calm. I define it calm because we haven’t any yet big events to organize. We’re just strictly focused to our quizzes, exams and projects. I’m persuading myself to have high grades.  I am very excited that time to have events, like Intrams and CAS week. I also pretty bored because I can’t wait to learn more about Adobe Photoshop which we’ll be taken that in 2^nd semester.

When 2^nd semester came, “Waaah! Hell sem. Ever!”
All the big events what I’ve been waiting for is coming, CAS week is coming, were all busy, CAS fam. are busy. ARRRGH. :\ very tragic.

We assigned to build an art exhibit which was very hard to organize. This is also part of our examination in our major major subject, so we need to do our best for our grades and fortunately we made it successfully.

Despite of all tragedy and haggardness we had experience that time, I realize something we gain a teamwork which help us to be stronger than before.

2^nd sem is over and here comes the Summer vacation, I can’t wait to have a long rest after all the disaster but when I’m done resting in a while, I realized that I am so much better if I am in school, I miss schooling, I miss being a busy student and I miss my classmates. I also realize that I want to be a photographer someday. At first when I am in first year level I don’t really know what I want to be someday in the future. I just want to edit or design something and I just love photography. I get inspired in our subject Art History because of the artworks we'd tackle and we've seen there especially the cathedral, the paintings. It’s so awesome. I want to capture all undiscovered things in this universe. I just want to capture all the wonderful things and appreciate what God gave us because it’s a blessing for us to have a wonderful nature like we had right now and we should proud for that.

I expect more improvement from me this year, maybe it’s not my time to shine yet, but when my time comes I will never ever let go that chance. I’m proud being a CAS family.

BLOG #9: Start of something DIFFERENT :D

Modern and 20th century had started to fade because Contemporary Arts started to trend and be recognized by many. Contemporary Arts produced by World war 2.

What I have learned in this period is that they used the style of Abstract- Expressionism to express their inner feelings.

They paint whatever they want, in any way even if it is by splattered ink just like Jackson Pollock the most famous painter in this period, he had an expensive painting and he usually paint on the huge canvas and he is an action painter.

Contemporary Arts is just the most modern of the 2 last period which are, Modern and 20th century.

BLOG # 8: Simplicity is Beauty

20th century it became known as Modern Art it denotes the style and philosophy of the art. The Impressionist Vincent Van Gogh and Gaugin involved in this era and some other artists from the other era.
For what I understand in this time is that 20th century is just distortion of an art and it depends on you of how you will recognize or appreciate it. For me I don't really appreciate the other arts they'd made because it's so complicated to understand but that is only my own taste.

When it comes in Architecture I like the way how they construct the house or a building.
The figure what they use is very simplistic. Now a days we're also adopting their style especially in our dream house. We can say it's very simple but if you notice it's also very functional and useful.

Because of being very simple 20th Century also became so unpredictable.
Every artist has own perception of their arts and you will not understand that if you will not recognize or appreciate.

All in all they style what they used is abstractionism  and impressionism.

Blog # 7: Think of something new

Finally we made our report successful. Of course without the help of our leader Kuya Arvie that will be not so successful like we had. Super thanks to Arvie Surio for being a responsible and good leader to me and also to Jhim.

As what I discover in our lecture, Modern Art is a very broad discussion because it tackle many kinds of style every era and it have 12 eras every topic it also have different artist who used different styles.
Most of them are against in Political Government. By the used of their talents in art they express it using their  paintings. One of the famous painters in the period of Romanticism is Francisco Goya, he against in French Government and French Government recognizes all of his paintings but despite of that Goya still against with them.

Every era has a different styles and subject matter. In this period of Modern Art each other against of what style they wanted to use because the other much prefer to use without drafting and the other wants to use with drafting but despite of that Modern art tackles and accept all of their ideas they wanted to use.

All in all the styles of what Modern Arts to use are realism, symbolism and Impressionism.

BLOG # 6: “Beyond the East the sunrise, beyond the West the sea"

Arts Beyond the West talks a lot about Chinese and African artworks which we also adopt. What I like most in this era is there creative subject matter they used in there artworks. 

I actually not really interested in this era because it's so broad to recognize and so antiquated arts but of course  that's only my taste when it comes in arts. 

We influenced it so much because we usually notice that most of our plates is porcelain and most of our artworks imitating in there era. I like the wares they made and we also adopt there wares.
They used the style of impressionism to other art works. They usually based there structures in the human.

Also in these period is they get an idea from what they used to do in that time.
They also have a belief about their Gods on that time.

BLOG # 5: Period of Barroco

BAROQUE Period, is a continuation of Naturalism and Classicism. Which more colorful, ornate, painterly and dynamic style.
This period also discuss about literature and music.
Baroque Period generally termed Rococo style- characterized by lightness, delicacy, and elaborate ornamentation.

Baroque art is a sense of movement, drama, grandeur, tension and detail. In this time artist much prefer to use their idea. What they see is what they draw. Which means they used REALISTIC style. Most of their paintings are based in place.

This period had many distribution to us, just like the architecture we adopt it from Spaniards so that most of us are Christians.
Most of our church are made from the Baroque style.

We can also say that this period also the continuation of Renaissance Period.

BLOG #4: The rebirth of art

Renaissance begins in the period of 14th-17th century in some part of Italy and later on it's spreading out in Europe which is trending the ideas of being a naturalism style.

Some of their artworks,paintings and architectures are famous and until now are still recognized by some other people. I thought this period will be so boring when it will be discussing but when Masa's Group discuss it and detailed it in order, I was enlightened about it. Famous artists arose during this period like Raphael Sanzio who painted the "School of Athen", Michaelangelo Buonarroti who painted "The Pieta" and Leonardo da Vinci who's the most famous of them all and painted the "Mona Lisa" that has many speculations and rumors about that painting. The regression of an arts in this time was very progressive because many famous artist existed and of course their artworks also. Just like Classical and Christian arts, Renaissance also express naturalism style and very idealism. That time they're thinking very creativity. They doing so well and they are all very admirable. All of their paintings are not so easy to do or to paint because it's not so easy to have a paint that they used and to think very creativity ideas, unless you are also an artist like them. Many tricks and techniques also trend that time, like chiaroscuro, optical illusion which is just only like the 3D dimension effect into the eye and many more.

BLOG # 3: Christianity is LOVE

This period is very interesting. Why? Because I love the way how Christians fight for their rights. I really don't get why some other people opposed the Christianity, but of course they didn't succeed.

Many of there works are really amazing especially the sculpture and architecture of there times, I love the church and cathedral they made and the paintings are also inspirational.
 As you can see in this period is all about religious art or sacred art just because this is the time when they really want to show that Christian can also exist in this universe and of course because God made universe for us to spread the love and goodness to others.

Until now we adopt and maintain the Christian Art to show respect to God. All of us have the same God. We have only one God even we have a lot of religion in this universe, only one God can give us true love.

BLOG # 2: “The conquered became the conquerors, and the conquerors became the conquered.”

When it talks about Classical Period the first thing that comes to my mind is the Romans and Greece which were the Romans conquered Greece and adapt the culture of Greek people. But the Greek culture remained.
Ancient Architecture in Greece and Rome are also considered classical art works.

Classical period in short tells about the REALISTIC of there culture. Sculpture and architecture is particularly what we can see in this period. They also favorable when it comes in jewelries, weapons and fibulae (ancient brooch) but only rich people can afford this such things.
Classical Arts influence us by being a realistic because the purpose of that is appreciate of something you earned an effort.
Even if that art work is broken or destroyed, still they appreciate and recognize it being an real art work.

All in all they value all the art works even if it's too old or broken.
They are Sentimental.
